File Maintenance

Routine maintenance of the data base can be a full time job for the clerk responsible for the inventory. When adding complete new product lines, or adding an occasional part, AutoPower contains several programs that will make the ongoing file maintenance of the parts more efficient than other systems, and certainly more efficient than doing it manually.
Procedures are available to update prices, change an old part number to a new one, add interchanges, or add superceded parts. Other procedures maintain the multiple bin locations that lets counter people know the many areas where the part can be found. The complete Inventory Master Record can be modified including prices, packaging sizes, weight, factory part numbers, bin location, stocking levels, etc. There are over 100 different fields of information maintained on each part number!
AutoPower's File Maintenance Report lists all the changes that were made while performing any changes or deletions from any of the file maintenance procedures. Accompanying this powerful audit report, is an on-line version (optional) providing access to a chronological history of changes made to any data field that is changeable via these maintenance procedures.
